Department of Corrections

Welcome to the Grafton County Department of Correction's WEB page.

The first Grafton County Jail was built in 1773 in North Haverhill. It was moved to Haverhill Corner in 1794. The second jail was built in 1794 and was used until a new facility was built in 1898.  In 1988 a major renovation took place and the facility was expanded to house 34 more inmates, Medical and Administrative offices.

Construction of the new Department of Corrections Facility is underway.
