Role – SNS provides Computer\Network\Help desk support to all 9 County Departments (3 are 24\7) and the 425 employees at the Campus. Recently completed installation of a new Fiber Optic ring Layer 3 POE network and migrated and consolidated 6 networks into one common Windows Domain.
Provides hardware support for all Servers, PC, Laptop, Wireless PDA’s, Switches, Firewalls, Routers, Printers, Video conferencing system and VOIP telephony system. Provide help desk support for all users with desktop applications and day to day needs. Handles daily management, security and backup of all computer systems and the network and supports a Virtualized Server environment. Works with departments to provide technical insight on meeting business objectives. Prepares Annual IT Budget for the Campus Departments. Select vendors for IT needs with a focus on cost and best value. Procures and sources all purchasing of Computer\Network related hardware and software for the campus departments. Installs, configure and deploy new computer equipment at the campus. Responsible for Internet connectivity services to all the departments at the campus. Provide staff training. Maintain inventory of IT equipment for the county.

Reports to – The County Administrator 

Office Location – 2nd Floor, South Wing of the Campus Administration Office Building.

Goals – Network consolidation to reduce overall campus IT cost. Standardization of software and hardware vendors. Adoption and deployment of free Open Source software where possible. Providing technology that provides a quick ROI. Remain a small department by automation of IT related tasks to reduce man hours used in day to day IT operations.
